In this section of Untangling The Web you will learn about Power Browsing on the World Wide Web. The first topic covered is Browser Basics. This will explain what a browser is and how it works. The next section will explain some of the other things a browser can do. For example, your browser can be used to do multi-media mail and it can serve as a general purpose multi-media viewer - even when you're not using the web. Then there is a section that will introduce you to searching on the web. First you'll learn how to use URLs effectively. Then the basics of searching will be covered followed by some fairly advanced examples that will make it possible for you to find just what you are looking for on the web. In the final topic of this section, you'll get a brief look at some of the features of the web that make web documents come alive, such as streaming audio, Shockwave, and plug-ins. Please take the time to explore the many hypertext links in this section.
