The following capabilities are available for your Browser:
STEP 1: LOAD
THE CREN TEST CA ROOT INTO YOUR
BROWSER
This is the first and most important step in using CREN Test
Certificate Authority Services. With this root certificate in your
browser, your browser will recognize the certificates issued by this Test
Certificate Authority. This process need only be done once per browser
installation. Some Smart Updates retain root certificates.
STEP 2: REQUEST A PIN
(Personal Identification Number) TO
OBTAIN YOUR TEST CERTIFICATE
A PIN will be sent to you via your email address, and you will then use that PIN in the process of requesting a test certificate. This PIN will be sent to the e-mail address that you provide so you will need to have access to that email at the time you do Step 3. The same PIN may be used to obtain multiple certificates of either type from the CREN Test CA.
STEP 3: REQUEST CERTIFICATES FOR YOURSELF FOR TEST PURPOSES You may request as many of each type of certificate as you like but remember that YOU will have to keep track of them.
CHOOSE THIS OPTION to request a CREN Test CA

to request access to certificate protected web sites at the same time they
are able to identify you. These certificates are for test purposes only and
provide assurance that the certificate owner has provided a valid e-mail
address. Limited identification information is contained within this type
of certificate.

Certificate for encrypting e-mail. These certificates are for test purposes
only and provide assurance that the certificate owner has a valid e-mail
address and that the content of the e-mail has not changed between the

Note: CREN DOES NOT ESCROW your private encryption key so if
you lose it or it becomes unusable in some other way, CREN will not be
able to help you.
