Network ManagementNetworks are becoming more complex, and there is an increasing need to establish and administer sound network management practices, addressing issues of reliability, organization, service and performance.In this segment, "Network Management: Basics" examines current and potential network management structures, with special emphasis on managing equipment, software, and support issues. "Network Management: Tools and Best Practices" discusses specific technology and procedures to help manage networks efficiently, and considers various steps institutions can adopt to ensure user service and satisfaction. Both presentations are conducted Ken Klingenstein, the Director of Computing and Network Services at the University of Colorado at Boulder. He has been recognized as a leader in national networking for over ten years, having served as Vice President of Farnet; Chair of the Federal Networking Council Advisory Committee, and Chair of the CAUSE Board. |
